The Origin Story

Camel Ride at Uluru, Australia
Camel Ride at Uluru, Australia

It all started from the day we landed at Uluru, Australia. The view, surroundings, animals, and weather were all spectacular! I felt like I was in a magical place .. everything was so different. It had red soil! Uluru's view changes colors every hour depending on the sunlight. How cool is that?!

The other thing that mesmerized me was the reptiles. I could see all kinds of lizards and geckos running around wildly. They had different textures and colors. They were so beautiful, yet amazing! One of them that I would really like to see again is the thorny devil. That is where Lizzie Jungle came from. All the animals and creatures that I sculpted are through the lizard's eye. I want to bring all the magical creatures that Lizzie (my logo) sees to life through art. :)

I opened an etsy account in 2011 when I was in love with beads and jewelry making. Back then I didn't have much time to do art because I was very busy with my full time job. I quit making jewelry a year later but I started to pick it up again in 2017.

My sculpture adventures began towards the end of 2018 when I found a book about polymer clay in the library. I was hooked!

I ended up doing a lot of research, watching a lot of tutorial videos, and practicing a lot with polymer clay. I found joy and happiness when I worked with clay. The more time I put in it, the more ideas kept coming.

All the sculptures that I create are purely hand sculpted with plenty of love, time, effort, imagination, and attention to detail. No mold is used!

Hope you enjoyed reading the story behind Lizzie Jungle! :)
